Yes, I know. It has been awhile since my last post. I seem to have fallen off the wagon! My apologies. However it has not been a total waste of time. I began internship at Sherwood Park Lutheran Church here in Winnipeg nearly a month ago and it has taken some time to get settled in. I got my office space mostly set up but I am not connected to the internet yet. That will happen in time I am sure.
Alan and I have been warmly welcomed in fact so much it has been a little overwhelming. The music director and choir directors are very pleased to have Alan join in the music ministry and I am pleased to see him accepting their offers! Internship started with a bang. In the first week I was doing hospital visitation and the second week I was visiting members in their homes. I am very glad that internship is here. I am so ready for it.
I was installed on Sunday and I preached. What an amazing experience.
I was the last person to preach in their pulpit as the congregation is undertaking a bit of sanctuary refurbishment. Here is a couple of pics of me in the pulpit and the santuary. I feel very honoured to be the last person to have preached in this pulpit.

On one of the blogs I frequently visit I found this. I think it is an awesome way to stop and contemplate the day. So here goes:
Outside my window…..it is dark and I can smell the lovely scent of wet earth. We laid sod in our front yard today and the water sprinkler is soaking the grass.
I am thinking…about how I am going to survive confirmation camp.
I am thankful for….an able body, hugs and gentle words, cool evenings and choral music.
From the kitchen….there is the scent of a freshly washed floor. mmmmm, nothing beats the clean smell!
I am wearing…t-shirt and yoga pants, bare feet. Not that I actually do yoga but the pants are comfortable!
I am reading….my friends blogs, Rachel’s Cry: Prayer of Lament and Rebirth of Hope by Kathleen D. Billman and Daniel L. Migliore.
I am creating….cards for confirmation camp.
Around the house…all is quiet.
One of my favorite things….good choral music and a glass of scotch.
A few plans for the rest of the week…..attending and helping to lead confirmation camp. Then it is internship retreat. I am really looking forward to seeing my seminary colleagues.
May your week be filled with the blessings and bounty of God.
